The Radi un Draugi Hotel is housed in an attractive corner building, with a peach coloured façade and a wood-panelled ground floor. Run by a charitable foundation, its name means “Friends and Relatives” because it opened in the mid-1990s as a hotel for Latvian expatriates returning to the country after the Russian occupation. The 77 guestrooms are spacious but comfortable and cosily appointed. All are clean and well equipped, as are the en suite bathrooms. The hotel also boasts a pleasant and recently renovated café (open from 8.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m.) and restaurant (open from noon to 11.00 p.m.). A Continental buffet breakfast is offered every morning in the latter. There’s also a classically designed, gentleman's club-style lounge.
