When we arrived at the hotel at 10.30pm it was clear fthat we were not expected. After taking our hotel voucher from us we were then told that there was a problem with the booking due to a construction problem in the hotel and that there was no water. After some telephone calls, the receptionist told us that we could stay in another hotel which would take us 10 minutes to walk to. As it was night time and we had just arrived in a strange city we were afraid to walk carrying our luggage to an unknown distination. We had to persuade the reception to book a taxi to bring us. We remained in the Hotel Tia for both nights of our stay. We requested the hotel to book taxi transport on several occasions and each time were overcharged by three times the correct amount. I do not consider it is appropriate that hotels are involved in the ripping off of their guests by using these taxi firms. When I complained they were unhelpful. We also had to evacuate our rooms due to a fire alarm being set off in the kitchens.

Only use Red Riga Taxis!

Highly recomment this hotel The rooms were spacious and the toilet first class,the hotel restaurant which we used for breakfast and a meal was of a very high standard

Night porter tended to get a little aggressive when a few of the guests were chatting. Handy to Skonto Stadium. 15 mins walk to City Centre

Just outside the city center, within walking distance (except when we really couldn't be bothered)
