Our Review

This is a basic standard of hotel located roughly a 30 minute walk from the Old Town. Rooms are clean and comfortable ans service at this hotel tends to be pretty average. Fine for guests looking for basic accommodation in a quiet location.

The Avitar Hotel was built in 1930 and totally reconstructed in 2001. It contains 37 apartments, of which 17 are one-room apartments, 17 are two-room apartments with connecting rooms, and 3 are special suites. The grill bar and restaurant of the hotel have a pleasant, cosy atmosphere and are open throughout the day. In the mornings they offer a buffet breakfast with variety of hot and cold dishes and drinks. During the lunchtime and in the evenings they serve Latvian and Oriental food à la carte, accompanied by a range of Latvian beers.
